There are a wide range of knowledge, skills, attitudes and abilities that contribute to intercultural/inclusive competence, as well as the ability to facilitate high quality connections in your interpersonal interactions so people who interact with you feel heard, seen, and respected.
While this reflection tool is not a comprehensive inventory by any means, this may be a useful tool to spark your thinking and conversations as you begin to assess your current level of intercultural and inclusive competence, and identify your personal goals for professional development.
As you consider the questions that follow you are invited to critically reflect on how often you authentically demonstrate the behavior in the work spaces and teams you are engaged with. Based on your responses, a list of development opportunities for you to consider will be generated for you.
This is a tool intended for your personal use and is completely anonymous. Staff in the Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will periodically analyze the overall data to better understand areas of competence for our community that can benefit from more University sponsored activities or where advanced sessions will be most valuable.
