Application Process for Senior Instructor
After six years of dedicated full-time teaching service, you have the opportunity to advance your career through promotion to Senior Instructor. This advancement brings meaningful recognition of your contributions and experience.
Required Materials:
- A curriculum vitae highlighting your teaching accomplishments
- A personal statement articulating your qualifications
- A letter of support from your department chair
Applications for promotion to “Senior Instructor” will be reviewed by the Associate Provost of Academic Programs and Curriculum and the Dean of Faculty, who will make a recommendation to the Provost. The Provost will make the final determination.
Instructors promoted to the “Senior Instructor” level will:
- Receive three-year renewable contracts rather than annual contracts
- Receive a one-time bonus of $750, paid during the first semester following the awarding of the promotion (usually the fall semester of the instructor’s seventh year of teaching).
