The Honor Loan fund was established to help University of Virginia students meet their short-term financial needs. To be eligible for an Honor Loan, students must be currently enrolled and in good standing with the University academically and financially.
The Honor Loan fund is revolving, which means there is a limited amount of money available for lending and the fund’s success depends on students repaying their loans in a timely manner. The maximum loan amount is $1500, and students are expected to repay their loan within 60 days.
Although no interest is charged, there is a fee of $10 associated with late repayments. Failure to repay the loan will result in a hold being placed on your account. In extreme cases, failure to repay may result in losing the privilege to borrow from the Honor Loan fund in the future and/or disciplinary action.
If you have any questions about the Honor Loan, please contact Care and Support Services by calling (434) 924-7133, emailing cass@virginia.edu, or by stopping by our office on the fourth floor of Student Health and Wellness.
