Hello First-Year Students,

The policy governing use of vehicles by first-year students can be found in the Undergraduate Record. One section of this policy states HRL's recommendation that all first-year students focus on their acclimation to the University and take part in the University’s residential experience. The availability of a vehicle on Grounds is solely for those who truly need it with exceptions granted only in extraordinary circumstances.

Any First-Year parking requests due to a medical need must be approved by the Student Disability Access Center (SDAC) located in Student Health. Please contact SDAC with questions on this process and to apply for services including a parking accommodation. https://www.studenthealth.virginia.edu/sdac

First-Year student athletes with regular practices away from Grounds should notify their coaches, and the Athletic Department will contact Parking & Transportation.

All other requests can be submitted using this form.

Parking & Transportation will approve or deny your request via your UVA email.
