Hello! We're excited to receive your application to the Bridge Program!
During Bridge, students will take a 3-credit math course, engage with staff and faculty across Grounds and within the Engineering School to establish meaningful relationships with essential resources, build a cohort of support with incoming first years and upperclassmen mentors, and gain valuable insight to help with their transition to college. There is no cost to participate!
The 2025 program dates are July 9th – August 1, 2025. All accepted participants will be automatically enrolled into orientation session C on July 10 and July 11.
The following requirements must be met to be eligible for consideration:
- An incoming, first-year student admitted to the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science (transfer students are ineligible)
- Available for the entire duration of the program, July 9 – August 1, 2025.
The goals of the program are to:
- Provide a transition from high school to college
- Orient students to campus resources for success
- Hone math skills and give students a firm footing for first-semester math placement
- Build a network of peers, faculty, and staff supporting first-generation college students and other underrepresented minorities in STEM
