Please read this study information sheet carefully before you decide to participate in the study.


Purpose of the research study: The purpose of the study is to discover the effects of sedentary behavior on stress levels of University of Virginia students


What you will do in the study: Answer the questions in the survey below. If at any time you feel uncomfortable answering a question, you may skip that question or stop the survey at any time. Results from the survey will be used in a research project within my ENWR 1510 class. 


Time required: The study will require about three minutes of your time.


Risks: There are no anticipated risks in this study. 


Benefits: There are no direct benefits to you for participating in this research study.  The study may help us understand whether students who sit for long periods of time each day feel more stressed that students who are more active. 


Confidentiality: The information that you give in the study will be handled confidentially. Your name and other information that could be used to identify you will not be collected or linked to the data.  


Voluntary participation: Your participation in the study is completely voluntary. Your decision to participate will have no effect on grades or school services.  


Right to withdraw from the study: You have the right to withdraw from the study at any time without penalty. 


Payment: You will receive no payment for participating in the study. 


Using data beyond this study: My paper written based on this study may be submitted as an example of my work to professors, but will not be distributed among students.
